Here I was interested in the cast off. When making the translations, the areas around the workspace reflect what’s happening, albeit in a looser less contrived manner.
Prints, drips, stains.
I took the freedom from ‘energetic’ translation (TOUCH theme) where I had experienced an unharnessible energy and used it in the topographical brush strokes I made in neon paint. I moved the brush so quickly over the sheet that I couldn’t control where it landed. The sheet could encompass many of the words from the translation exercise, but what it represents for me is the breakaway from control. Working with material lead notions, has allowed me to explore my practice beyond wanting to interpret a visual theory.
